The Kooperationsstelle Hamburg (Lead partner)

The Kooperationsstelle Hamburg is a department of the Ministry of Science and Research of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

The Kooperationsstelle Hamburg encourages cooperation between science and the world of labour, working together with universities and businesses to provide consulting, advising, services, commissioned studies as well as research and innovation projects. The Kooperationsstelle Hamburg is active at the regional, national and international level. For our projects we co-operate with other research institutes, state facilities, associations, and private companies.

Our primary focus areas are almost exclusively topics from the field of labour and the workplace. We specialise in matters involving occupational safety and health, protection of the environment, work organisation and organisational development. Our main goal is the strengthening of development possibilities for companies and their personnel via joint projects and consulting.

We have worked together for more than 15 years with notable national and international project partners from universities, companies and consulting firms on many topics concerning occupational issues. These partners include numerous Directorates-General and Agencies of the EU, the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA), employers’ liability insurance associations and their umbrella organisations as well as German and foreign universities. To this list may be added scientific organizations such as IVAM (Amsterdam University) or TNO in the Netherlands, France’s INRS and the ISTAS from Spain.

Our work is certainly not routine. We don’t propose standard solutions – rather, we focus on giving individual attention to every project. Complex work requires the avoidance of routine questions as well as a dependable working organisation. For this reason, the Kooperationsstelle Hamburg has instituted a quality management system according to the standards of ISO 9001:2000. This quality management system also supports us as we set goals that promote the interests of our clients.
